It all started in 1982 when a group of Abilene businessmen learned about the needs of the Abilene Boys Ranch and decided to help. These guys loved to cook chili, so their idea was simple: fire up the pots, invite some friendly competition, and raise some money for kids who needed it. What started as a local cookoff is now the Chili Super Bowl & BBQ Cookoff, held every Labor Day weekend in Buffalo Gap, Texas. 

Dozens of teams show up each year to compete for over $7,500 in cash prizes in chili, brisket, ribs, chicken, beans, and more. But the real prize? Over 44 years, the Chili Super Bowl Board has donated over $2 million to Ben Richey Boys Ranch & Family Program!

Join us September 5th and 6th for great food, vendor booths, raffles, a live auction, People’s Choice judging, a Saturday night dance, and homemade chili in the World’s Largest Chili Pot.
