Started in 2011 by singer/songwriter Mark Powell and his family, this annual music festival has grown in popularity and attendance over the years. Top name country music artists ascend upon The Back Porch of Texas facility in Abilene for two days of music, friendship and fun. Outlaws and Legends was awarded ‘Festival of the Year’ by Texas Regional Radio Music Awards in 2021 and 2023 along with many other accolades since its inception in 2011.
Over the past 13 years, with the tremendous partners who have helped build our annual festival into a landmark event, Outlaws and Legends has become an extended family of builders. Each has an integral hand in building the great Big Country community and music community. This last year, 2024, ticket buyers helped raise over $91,000 for the Ben Richey Boys Ranch and Family Program, which was the largest single year donation to date. Giving back to our community is a high priority each year.
